Virtue’s Key

The superior man thinks always of virtue; the common man thinks of comfort.

-Confucius

Look for the place

where promise is grace

stories are told

of an age colored gold

written is a rule

ignored by yesterday’s fool.

Yet

hope is painted with a word

crowded colors are being stirred

creation’s balance is almost dry

arrows are aimed and ready to fly.

While

guile has gone astray

gilded by way of yesterday

he washed away in sin

shattered by sensation’s grin.

So

if love is locked away

left to rot in hatred’s cage

so soon should come the day

of mercy’s golden age.

So come with me

I’ve got this key

go on

look inside yourself

you will see.
